Ronald Moody, MAI, SRA, one of the original founding partners of Broom, Moody, Johnson & Grainger, Inc. (1982), started a new appraisal company, Moody Appraisal Group, LLC, on January 1, 2015, as President. With the addition of Mark Williams, MAI, and his team, the Company was rebranded to Moody Williams Appraisal Group, LLC on January 1, 2020. On May 1, 2023, Ronald Moody sold his interest in Moody Williams to Michael Hotaling, MAI, ASA. On January 1, 2026, the Company rebranded to Hotaling-Moody & Associates. Our company provides professional real estate appraisal and consultation services. These services encompass commercial, industrial and residential appraisals as well as litigation support services for a diverse range of clients with a heavy concentration of appraisals for eminent domain cases.
Ronald Moody, Founder, continues to actively work on Eminent Domain and other litigation matters, and has a total of 53 years of appraising experience (2026). He is an MAI Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute, a designation that is the most respected professional recognition that one can earn in the real estate appraisal business. He also holds the SRA designation, which is a respected residential designation from the Appraisal Institute. In addition to completing value estimates for proposed and existing properties, Ronald Moody is also experienced in litigation valuation and is qualified as an expert witness in numerous state and federal courts.
Ronald Moody has been active in local, state, and national professional appraisal groups and continues to participate in various committees for the advancement of appraisal education and professionalism. Ronald Moody, MAI, SRA, served as President of the Jacksonville Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers in 1984 and then later as President of the East Florida Chapter of the Appraisal Institute in November 1997. He also served on a national committee as a grader of demonstration reports and is qualified to teach courses for the Appraisal Institute. He was Chairman of the Board of the Downtown Investment Authority (DIA) for Jacksonville from 2020-2021 and a Board member for seven years, providing his knowledge in the real estate industry regarding decisions involving the development of Jacksonville’s downtown urban core. Mr. Moody is a member of the Association of Eminent Domain Professionals (AEDP) and is qualified as an expert witness in Circuit and State Courts in the State of Florida.
